About
An annual $5,000 award given by the Association for Women in Architecture Foundation to a female student studying architecture or a related design field. It supports students enrolled in qualifying majors at California schools or female residents of California studying these fields. Recipients are selected from applicants who meet the foundation's unit and enrollment requirements.
Sponsoring an AWAF Scholarship reflects a commitment to supporting and encouraging female students as they strive to achieve their educational goals and enter the design professions.
Who can apply
Be female and either a California resident or attend a California school.
“Applicants must be female residents of California or attending a California school, and must be enrolled in one of the qualifying majors for the current school term.”
Be enrolled in one of the qualifying majors (Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and/or Land Planning, Interior Design, Historic Preservation or Environmental Design).
“The Association for Women in Architecture Foundation offers annual cash awards to women students studying Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and/or Land Planning, Interior Design, Historic Preservation or Environmental Design leading to a college degree.”
Have completed a minimum number of units in the major (18 units for most applicants; 10 units for current community college students).
“Applicants must have completed a minimum of 18 units in their major by the application due date, OR current community college students shall have a minimum of 10 units completed in their major.”
Live in California
