About

The AWS Board of Directors Scholarship is one of the AWS Foundation’s national scholarships for students pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree in welding or a related discipline. National scholarships provide funds to be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment and are paid directly to the educational institution. Applicants to national scholarships are required to submit two references and an official transcript. Some national scholarships require demonstrated financial need and some require or prefer AWS membership.

The National Scholarships are the most prestigious, high-dollar scholarships offered by the AWS Foundation. More than 130 donor-funded scholarships, totaling over $700,000, are available for students pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree in welding or a related discipline.
