Awarded to semifinalists in the Alumni Distinguished Scholarship competition for incoming first-year students. Recipients receive $1,500 per year, renewable for eight semesters. Consideration is automatic and based on academic performance and participation in the competition.
Who can apply
Be an incoming or prospective student to Michigan State University (incoming first-year).
“The following scholarships are awarded to a limited number of incoming first-year students based on grade point average, class rank, standardized test scores or similar criteria.”
Be a participant in the Alumni Distinguished Scholarship competition.
“Awarded to 65 semifinalists in the Alumni Distinguished Scholarship competition; $1,500 per year for eight semesters*”
Apply for admission by November 1 to be eligible for invitation to the Alumni Distinguished Scholarship competition.
“Invitations to compete in the examination are sent to the most outstanding students who apply for admission by November 1.”
